Primed and Photo Ready

Hello Lovelies (:

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend, I missed the bbloggers chat last night ): I don't like to miss them as I love interacting with other bloggers and also getting lots of lovely blog links to read!

Anyway I orderd the Smashbox Photo Finish Light Oil Free Primer from Boots.com a couple of weeks ago as it was on my Makeup Wishlist, I bought the travel size 12ml bottle costing £12.50. I wanted to try this primer mainly because I rarely ever use one and because I was finding that my makeup wasn't lasting as long as well as my foundation had started to cling to dry patches that had appeared on my face. I apply this product on top of my moisturiser before applying my foundation, it sinks into the skin quite fast so I have to be quick with the blending. It leaves a velvet like texture on the skin and doesn't feel heavy.

I have found since using this that it gives a smooth, more flawless finish to my foundation especially around my nose where foundation sometimes tends to sit in the pores. I have used this product a few times now and do not seem to have broken out from it which is always a concern for me when using new products on my face. If I have been wearing a primer in the day then I tend to double cleanse in the evening to ensure I have removed all trace of the primer and any makeup. I am still undecided as to whether I am going to purchse the full product as I am not sure if it prevents me from touching up with powder as often but I have enough of this travel size to keep me going until I have made up my mind!

If you read my Make up Wishlist post you would have seen that I had MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle on my list. So when Debenhams emailed me to say I had £10 to spend on My Beauty Club Rewards card, I toddled off to buy it! This product is one which is raved about so much within the beauty community, and I can see why! I was skeptical to purchase it as I have other highlighting products such as the NARS Albatross and Benefit's High Beam both of which I am not too fussed about. I use my Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour brush to apply this to the tops of my cheekbones, I dab the brush into the product then tap some off as you don't want too much on your face. I haven't been able to take a picture of me wearing it as it adds just a light subtle shimmer which either doesn't show up on camera or reflects the flash! Beauty blogger problems! I find that for everyday use this brightens up my face as I use quite a matte finish foundation due to having oily/combination skin, I am glad I purchased it, wonder how long it will take me to use it all up!

Update: Keine Schokolade

Hello Lovelies (:

Hope you are all ok, I thought I would update you on the No Chocolate Challenge, you can read why I was resisting chocolate in my first post Keine Schokolade. Now I have to confess..I gave in an ate chocolate! I don't always buy chocolate but I think banning myself from it made me want it more! I came to the conclusion that I didn't need to resist it as I had convinced myself it wasn't the main reason for my bad skin. I was suffering with my skin, I realised that it was most likely down to the cleanser I was using which contained Mineral Oil. So I stopped using it immediately, although a little reluctantly as I had paid £40 for it! I then turned to my favourite skincare blog Caroline Hirons for some expert advice and have since changed my cleanser which helped soothe my skin straight away, it hasn't fixed it just yet but it is much better! I have since found the £40 cleanser a new home!

What are your tips for good skin, would love for you to share.

Taking the Lipstick

Hello Lovelies (:

You know how the trend this autumn is to wear berry coloured lipsticks? The darkest lipstick I own is Mac's Creme Cup! This week I took the plunge and bought my first berry coloured lipstick, I wasn't that brave though as I went for a Revlon Lip Butter which are normally quite sheer to other lipsticks.

I got the colour Raspberry Pie. When applied to the lips it came out darker than I expected, the other Lip Butters I have come out fairly light. The boyfriend wasn't a big fan to start with, he wasn't used to seeing me wearing dark lipstick! I liked it, it's a cute colour however it does need to be reapplied quite often. When it wears off it leaves a stain like your wearing lip liner so perhaps it could be worn with a berry coloured lip liner all over the lips underneath so that when it wears off it doesn't look odd. I think it's a great option for those of you that are like me and don't own a dark lipstick, I'm hoping the more I wear it the more I'll like it then I will have the courage to stroll into the department store and buy MAC's Rebel!

What's your favourite lipstick colour for autumn?

Sisterly Love

Hello Lovelies (:

[caption id="attachment_305" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Source[/caption]

I've been wanting to write this post for a while now, just had not got round to it, but now I have! My sister and I aren't very close, we have never been really. Always fighting when we were younger, always doing our own things. My sister was ALWAYS stealing my clothes and taking them to her friends, this used to really wind me up as I would only realise when I was looking for something to wear and find it was missing! Don't worry I get my own back on her now! I am quite an emotional girl (I'm welling up writing this!), take things to heart and always look too deep into things. My sister on the other hand is the complete opposite, always keeps her feelings bottled up, very outgoing and usually takes things with a pinch of salt! It wasn't until our family circumstances  changed about 5 years ago now that we started seeing eye to eye, I don't want to go into what happened but lets just say that things are very different now, but in a way I am glad they have changed as it has brought us closer together. We talk a lot more, we still argue just not as much (this probably has something to do with the fact that we have grown up and matured a little!) but I now enjoy being in her company, she makes me laugh, I have fun. When I'm around her I find myself getting immature and silly, not being my usual serious self, I definitely become more outgoing! When I told my sister that I was thinking of starting my own blog she laughed, so she doesn't know I am writing this but she will one day and I hope she is as proud of me as I am of her! She is having a tough time at work at the moment and I have my fingers crossed so tightly that she gets the break she so badly deserves! Little Sis, I love you more than you'll ever know and I'm wishing you all the luck in the world for Tuesday!

Plant Your Brushes Here

Hello Lovelies (:

Another day, another post! I went to IKEA a few weekends back now with a friend. I was good and didn't buy too much. I did see these plant pots which I thought were simple but pretty and of course being beauty obsessed I immediately thought they would be great for storing my ever expanding collection of makeup brushes! When I got them home and tried them out I did notice that they are quite tall so I sort of have to dip into the pot to pick out a brush. I also thought white pots with makeup might not be a good mix but it seems to be ok so far. The pots are made out of metal so I think you would be able to give them a quick wipe. I no longer have the receipt but think they were about £3.50 per pot, I bought two. Not bad for quick, pretty storage on your dressing table.

Keine Schokolade

Hello Lovelies (:

[caption id="attachment_273" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Source[/caption]

This sums up my relationship with chocolate

Recently I have been having a few issues with my skin, being combination and spot prone is frustrating anyway but when I'm getting small bumps in places where I never normally have problems is starting to get me down. So I have tried several things; drinking more water, buying the Eve Lom cleanser, trying out hydraluron, having a weekly face mask, but still not much improvement! It wasn't until last night that I thought about it after buying lots of chocolate confectionery at the cinema that I realised I had been eating more than I had in a few months, then a light bulb went ding in my head! Maybe this could be why my skin is being problematic! So today in the first day of my no chocolate challenge, I'm giving this a go for a month to see if this improves my skin. An if it doesn't well I will be back to eating chocolate!! Yum! I am such a sweet person, resisting a piece of warm goey melting chocolate cake with smooth vanilla ice cream is hard for me!

I will let you know how I get on, if you have any suggestions of how I can get smooth glowing skin please do share!

Yours,

A desperate Bobbi
