New York Pictures

Hello Lovelies (:

I've been a bit missing in action this week as am currently in New York, whilst I've been away I also got a new blog design and transferred it over to blogger! So you can now follow me via GFC (I am very excited about this!) It also means I can follow more blogs too!

Anyway I thought I would post a few of the pictures I've taken;

Whats In My Travel Make-up Bag?

Hello Lovelies (:

I have spent the weekend packing for our trip to New York (on Monday) and let me tell you it has been hard trying to pick out the outfits and whittle my make-up collection down to a few items! But I got there in the end so I thought I'd show you what make-up made the grade!

I seem to have quite a few products for my eyes, I only really use one colour out of my MAC palette and that is to fill in my eyebrows but I have to take the whole thing with me. The NAKED palette is great as there are so many wearable colours for both day and night, such a fab product especially for travelling with! Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers, these are an everyday must to give my lashes that little curl. Always take a black gel liner with me as it finishes my eyes off nicely. I have oily lids so this Too Faced Shadow Insurance really helps to keep the eyeshadow on and stop it from creasing throughout the day. The Primark lashes are new I bought them yesterday, I have heard some good things about them I just need to buy some DUO Lash Glue when I'm out in NY to apply them with.

I have been using this travel size primer from Smashbox to help give me that flawless finish and give my make-up some staying power, after using MAC's Stuido Fix Fluid foundation I set it with the Laura Mercier translucent powder. I don't use many lip products and if I do I'm normally wearing something quite neutral but I want to be more adventurous which is why I've also packed the Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie.

Of course I am hoping to pick up a few make-up bits whilst out in the Big Apple so need to save room in my bag!

I am getting really excited now and what is even more exciting is my boyfriend has booked and planned it all and I won't know what we are doing until the day, what a sweetie!I obviously won't be blogging much this week but I am hoping to do a few posts with pictures of our trip for you all to see!

Any items I NEED to pick up whilst out in America?

Clothing Haul from..Asda!

Hello Lovelies (:

Whilst in Asda doing my weekly shop I picked up a few items from their clothing department, here they are;

This shirt was £14, my first studded item, not usually a fan of the studs but I like this shirt. I think it will go well with a pair of leather look leggings and some converse!

How snugly and cosy does this look? This cost £16 and I can't wait to wear it with some leggings and UGG boots! Perfect wintery outfit!

I'm a bit late to the party with this jacket but I wasn't sure if I liked the style then I decided I wanted to get one and happen to find this in Asda, only one in my size - clearly a sign! This was £28 which I suppose is a little expensive for Asda but jackets always last me!

You can't go wrong with black heels, they go with everything!I have a few dresses these will go nice with! The peep toes were £16 and the black patent ones were £14.

I always tend to have a look at the clothes when I'm in Asda but never normally find anything that catches my eye until last week!Do you find bargains when you are out shopping?

Update On The Caterpillars

Hello Lovelies (:

About a month ago I wrote a post about my quest for caterpillars, you can ready that here. Basically I have for years over waxed my eyebrows and so for about the past year have been trying to grow them out. I bought the Rapid Brow serum to help speed up the process as I had patchy bits and they were looking fairly odd! The serum is supposed to work in 60 days, I have been using this product on and off for a bit over 60 days now and feel I have seen quite an improvement in the growth I thought it was time to give you an update. Here are my eyebrows after 30 days

Here are my eyebrows now

As you can see I have quite a bit more growth than before, especially at the start of my eyebrows and at the ends. They are still a bit patchy but I am hoping by Christmas they will be fairly full so that I can get them threaded into shape in the new year! Fingers crossed! I would recommend this serum and its £37 price tag as, if your eyebrows aren't as bad as mine, it may fix them in just 60 days, but just because something has worked for me doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you unfortunately! Although I love this product I don't think I will be repurchasing it as I can't justify the £37, if it had worked a miracle on my brows then maybe. I still have a bit of the serum left so am going to continue using it up before putting castor oil on them as I have heard this helps too.

Do you put anything on your eyebrows to keep them healthy? Do you have any growth tips?

John Frieda - 3 Day Straight Review

Hello Lovelies (:

Today's post is all about John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight spray.

What John Frieda says about it (on the box):

"Transform curly, frizzy hair into a straight, smooth style that lasts up to 3 days.* Introducing Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray. Our revolutionary heat-activated formula with keratin protein wraps each strand to seal in longer-lasting straightness without weighing it down. Protects against heat damage and blocks frizz."

"Directions: Spray throughout DAMP OR WET, not dry hair. Start with 7-15 sprays. Use more or less depending on amount of curl, length and thickness. Comb to distribute evenly and blow-dry hair straight. Finish by using HAIR STRAIGHTENERS in sections."

I bought this not long after I had my fringe cut in as I have curly, frizzy hair and in this wintery weather the fringe wasn't staying straight. I straighten my hair fairly often and have done for years, since I discovered GHDs anyway! I find that because my hair is so frizzy that even after straightening it, it will go frizzy in the rainy air especially where I have layers. So in a desperate situation I picked up this product from Boots, it was on 3 for 2 so picked up a few other things aswell.

I followed the instructions and sprayed it onto my wet hair, along with the other products I use, and then blow dried and straightened it. It didn't leave my hair feeling heavy or looking greasy but I didn't find that it kept the frizz away like I had hoped it would, in the rainy air, so I was a bit disappointed. A couple of washes later and I decided to give it a second chance. So again I followed the instructions, concentrating on the areas that tended to get frizzy, but once again it didn't keep the frizz at bay! The rain and my hair just don't mix!

As for keeping my hair straight for three days I'm not convinced either. I've always found using my GHD's that my hair stays fairly straight anyway until my next wash, I do have to run the straighteners over my hair the next day but only quickly. I didn't find that using this product kept it any straighter. Perhaps this would be good for non GHD users, I'm not sure. All I know is that this product left me disappointed and still on the hunt for a product that keeps my frizz at bay in the rainy weather.

Do you have any product recommendations that would help?

Just A Quick Note..

Hello Lovelies (:

I hope you are all well, I started writing my blog back when I broke up from uni for my 5 month long summer! So was never really sure how I was going to be able to cope with blogging whilst at university, my course is quite demanding and now that I am getting towards the end of my uni years I need to put a lot of effort in. So I just wanted to write a quick note to my lovely readers to explain that the posts may be a bit scarce at the moment as have got a few things on at university, but I will be rushing to get back to it when I can! (:

Hope you understand and thanks for reading

Favourites #1

Hello Lovelies (:

I thought  I would share with you some of the products I've been loving this month.

Clarins Iris Toner - I had fallen out of the routine of using a toner but now I am enjoying using one! This smells quite 'perfumey' which I am not too keen on, however it feels soothing on the skin and doesn't leave any residue.

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleanser - I purchased this after my nightmare with another cleanser as this is one which is highly recommended and I can see why!It is an oily balm that turns into a milky cleanser when mixed with a little water. It smells gorgeous and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

Tangle Teezer - These have been around for a while now but I never realised what all the fuss was about, it was just another hairbrush to me, until I bought it!I've been tying to grow my hairout so this is helping to keep it in good condition.I have since had to buy one for my friend who has fallen in love with it!

Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo - I purchased this in Asda when doing my weekly shop hoping it would be my dupe for the raved about Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo. I haven't tried the Bumble and Bumble one so can't really compare it however, I can say that this shampoo has been great for when I have had coconut oil in my hair as this washes out all trace of it! I haven't used it more than once a week as I thought it might be too harsh and strip out my natural oils!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - Having heard about the foundation version of this and being too scared to try it incase it made my combination skin look like an oil slick I tried the concealer instead! It isn't as lightening as I had expected it to be however there are little flecks of shimmer in it which makes it brightening. It lasts all day and doesn't seem to crease, yay!

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle - Since purchasing this highligher I have worn it everyday that I have worn makeup!I have really got into my highlighting now!I did a full review of this product here.

Nars Laguna Bronzer - This product has been great for warming up my pale winter skin!I use a big fluffy brush to apply it across my cheekbones a little as well as underneath to contour just a little. This is actually the only bronzer I own and still haven't even hit pan on it yet!

What have been your favourites this month?
