Products I Want To Try #2

Hello Lovelies (:

I thought I would share with you a few of the products I am wanting to try out at the moment.

Soap & Glory Hand Food - I have tried many hand creams and just can't seem to find that one which makes your hands amazingly soft. I would like to try this hand cream as there is a lot of love for it and if it's as good as their Heel Genius then I think I'll love it too! £5 Boots.com

MAC's Dollymix Blush - I currently only own 4 blushes with one of them being MAC's Pink Swoon. I'd like to be more adventurous with my blush but seem to find it hard to pick ones that suit my pale skin. I noticed this the other week while I was at the MAC counter and have been debating whether to get it or not. When I asked the girl at the counter whether she thought it would suit me she wasn't very helpful. £17.50 Debenhams.com

Zelens Facial Pads - I have been wanting to try these but I can't seem to bring myself to pay £65 when I'm not sure they will work. I am thinking of getting these to replace my Liquid Gold which has now run out. The reason I have had my eye on these is because I had seen them on Anna's blog a while back and wanted to see how they compared to the Liquid Gold. Spacenk.com

Rimmel Apocolips - I have seen lots of swatches for these on various blogs and they look absolutely gorgeous! I've been wanting to try out a red lip but haven't found the right red lipstick for me so I am hoping to try out the red ones of these instead! And maybe a few others! hehe They don't come out until January 23rd!

Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Masque - I tweeted the skincare expert Caroline Hirons asking her if she could pretty please recommend a hydrating mask and she suggested either this or Origins. I have tried the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask but something about it just puts me off it. I also wanted to try one from Clarins but noticed it had alcohol in it which confused me as alcohol dries out your skin! So I am looking at getting this one but again its a hefty price tag! (I have a birthday coming up though). £45.45 Amazon.co.uk

Lierac DioptiGel - This comes recommended by Anna again so something about it must be good! I don't suffer with bad bags but I seem to be stuck on the Origins Ginzing Eyecream which is ok but I think there could be better things out there - like this eye gel! Plus it is cheaper than Origins! £17.50

Hot Tools 1 Inch Curling Tong - I have a Tigi curling wand which is good but I don't find that it gives the same kind of curl that curling tongs do! I am hoping that this will create those big bouncy curls you see celebs like Lauren Conrad wearing. I like the fact that you can adjust the heat settings. £34.19 Amazon.co.uk

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think of them, or do you have other recomendations for similar products?

Glitter Ombre Nails

Hello Lovelies (:

I've been thinking about 'ombreing' my hair but can't seem to bring myself to do it just yet as I am still trying to grow it out and I think 'ombreing' it will cause it to grow even slower! So instead I decided to ombre my nails. Now I had to YouTube tutorials for this as I just couldn't figure out how to do it, so it's not all my amazing work! After YouTubing it I tried out a technique on one nail and instagramed a picture, it got a few likes so thought I would write a post about how I did it.

So firstly I painted a think layer of base coat on each nail, for this I used the OPI Nail Envy. Once this has dried take your base colour, I chose black (Revlon Colourstay in the colour, 270 Stiletto). Paint this on each nail and again wait for it to dry. After it has dried you want to take your glitter polish, wipe most of the glitter off of the brush onto the top of the bottle. Then starting 3/4 of the way down your nail, paint a thin coat.

Again wait for this to dry, then paint a thicker layer about a 1/4 of the way down your nail so this time it is covering mainly your tips. Make sure to get lots of glitter here to give it that ombre effect!

I used a chunky glitter as I thought this would show up best. I just used Barry M's Yellow Topaz Glitter.

Once all nails are dry go over with a top coat to make it shiny and to ensure the glitter doesn't come off!

There you have it, glitter ombre nails! If I haven't explained this well enough then just YouTube it as there are lots of tutorials on there. I have got some other glitter I want to try out so I am looking forward to next week when I re-do my nails. Although I do find that this is such a long process as you need to wait for each layer to properly dry before painting over the top, but the end result looks fab! Even my boyfriend said he liked the way I had done them (brownie points to him for noticing!).

Have you done this effect on your nails before? Have you got any tips that make the process quicker?

A Little Haul

Hello Lovelies (:

I haven't done much shopping lately although, I did pick up a few bits whilst I was in town. I had my eye on this brush as my hair is getting longer and it's quite thick so I am hoping that this makes drying my hair so much easier and quicker!

I was on the hunt for a new eye make up remover, I just can't seem to find one that amazes me! So I had a look down the La Roche Posay isle and saw this, it is a little on the expensive side (about £9) for what I would normally pay for an eye make up remover but I'm hoping it proves it is worth it!I would love some suggestions for other eye make up removers to try.

I popped into Primark for some black tights (I didn't see the need to include these as we all know what they look like) and got distracted in the reduced jewellery section and picked up these little gems for only a couple of pounds each!

I also picked up some samples - in the little pots are the Clarins Hydra Quench Mask and the Clarins Lotus Face Oil.

What have you been buying recently, I'd love to take a look?

Healthy Green Juice

Hello Lovelies (:

It's January and every women and her dog is doing a detox!I am trying to change my lifestyle rather than wanting a quick fix. Over the past year I have been wanting to be healthy one minute and then eat whatever I want the next, but I'm fed up of not feeling comfortable in my own body which is why I've decided a lifestyle change is needed! So I thought  I would share with you one of the juices I have been enjoying of a morning lately!

You will need:
2 celery sticks
1 chunk cucumber
2 carrots
1 handful kale
1 handful spinach
1 inch slice lime
2 pears
I like to put a pear or an apple in first and then pack in the kale and spinach to ensure it gets juiced. The lime, carrots and pears make this juice taste quite sweet (and provide nutrition such as vitamins B & C) while the spinach and kale are packed with iron, vitamins A, C, K, calcium and antioxidants. Then just add everything else.

I prefer to juice as sometimes I think smoothies can be a little too thick, but give this a try, I hope you like it!

What other fresh juices do you like?

Tag You're It!

Hello Lovelies (:

I was tagged by the lovely Emma from Glossy Boutique to do this post, I thought it would be a bit of fun! So here are the rules;
  • You have to answer the 11 questions the 'tagger' set for you
  • You have to set 11 questions and tag 11 other people to answer them
  • And also mention the blog that tagged you
Edited - source
1. What is your best memory from 2012?
My best memory probably has to be going to New York & getting engaged whilst out there.

2. If you could change one thing about 2012 what would it be?
I would have to say the Summer, I didn't get to wear many of my nice clothes as the weather wasn't great! Here's hoping for a better one in 2013!

3. Where is your favourite holiday destination?
I haven't been to many places but out of the few holidays I have been on I would say that Crete was definitely the best. The Boy and I went here on our first holiday together it was fab, apart from the lack of beaches!

4. What is your job/career?
At the moment I am studying to become a Primary School Teacher. Currently in my third year out of 4.

5. What do you hope for in 2013?
I hope that my family and friends are happy and healthy!

6. What product could you not live without?
I don't think I could live without my cleanser. This year I have learnt to take care of my skin and by doing this I feel happier and my make up looks better.

7. What's on your current wishlist?
I don't have one written down at the moment but I should do as I am now forgetting everything I am lusting after! A big thing I have been 'umming' about is the Canon 600d!

8. Favourite clothes shop?
I don't have a favourite really but I do like a lot of the things in Miss Selfridge.

9. Favourite blogger?
I wouldn't say I have a favourite blogger as I read lots of blogs and watch various beauty gurus on Youtube.

10. What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
I think I am most looking forward to looking for a venue for our wedding (which will be in a couple of years yet!).

11. Do you like tags?
Tags are a great way for bloggers to interact with other bloggers as well as a way of a blog's readers getting to know the blogger behind the blog (sounds like a riddle!).

So here are the 11 questions I have thought up;
 1. What are your New Years Resolutions?
2. What made you decide to start blogging?
3. If you could purchase anything, money no object, what would it be?
4. Make up or Skin care?
5. Do your family and friends know about your blog?
6. If you could run away to anywhere in the world where would you run?
7. What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog?
8. What has been your 'Go To' product of 2012?
9. What product(s) would you like to try out this year?
10. What is your favourite skin care item and why?
11. If you could only buy make up from one brand which would you chose?

And I tag;

I hope you all enjoyed that little tag, would love for you take a peek at the blogs mentioned they are all fab!

Pretty In Rose

Hello Lovelies (:

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic New Years Eve, I have been enjoying reading all the New Years Resolution Posts!

(It didn't apply this sheer when using a flat brush)

I bought this lovely MAC pigment in Rose, just before Christmas so that I was able to wear it on the day. I took pictures as soon as I could because I couldn't wait to use it. Although I was upset because as I was getting it out of the box the lid fell off and I lost a fair bit of product on my jeans and the carpet! I don't rate the packaging as I find it difficult putting the lid on - I never know if it is on properly!

However, I absolutely love the product, it is so pigmented (as the name suggests!) and really makes my hazel eyes pop! It definitely added sparkle for Christmas Day! I like the hint of gold it has in it as it makes it more wearable. I am now in the market for more pigments, perhaps Vanilla next!

If you want a cheaper alternative to MAC Pigments the Barry M Dazzle Dusts & Glitter Dusts are just as good, I have a few of these too! I would suggest using an eyeshadow primer on the lid then apply these products over the top to give them some staying power and help build up the pigment on the lid.

Do you have any MAC pigments? Which are your favourites?
